The First Omen

- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI felt that the first act of the movie was a bit unoriginal. Not because of the homages to some of the original Omens cinematography, but because I've seen these Nuns in schools/orphanages type movies. Another problem I had were the unnecessary jump scares. They felt rather cheap. But ones the final hour kicked in. A thing happens. And the movie starts to reveal itself along with it's twists and turns. The movie becomes relentless and gripped my attention until the end. Well written, well directed. The imagery and cinematography was beautiful. Nell Tiger Free and Ralph Ineson were a good duo on screen. Nell with a subtle and mysterious performance while Ralph brought the urgency and intensity. I recommend this movie.
