Since 2002, she has performed in films such as Signs, Raising Helen, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Keane, Chestnut: Hero of Central Park, Little Miss Sunshine, and The Family Plan. She has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno five times. At such a young age, she has still been able to gain respect from her older peers. Her Sunshine co-stars Greg Kinnear and Alan Arkin both mentioned how "they were astounded by her seriousness of purpose during shooting."[2] Her performance on Little Miss Sunshine garnered her a prestigious Screen Actors Guild Award Nomination in 2006, as well as a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture on January 23, 2007.
Breslin is the younger sister of actor Spencer Breslin. The two were cast as brother and sister in Raising Helen.
She recently appeared on "The Tonight Show," as well as Late Night with Conan O'Brien and discussed her movie, Little Miss Sunshine, and her love for The OC. She also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, January 15th, 2007.
Abigail auditioned for the title role in 2007's Alice, based off of a series of books by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, but lost the spot to Alyson Stoner because she looked too young.
