Aida Turturro mini-bio: Aida Turturro (born September 25, 1962) is an American actress known for playing Janice Soprano, sister of New Jersey mob boss, Tony Soprano, on the HBO TV series The Sopranos, a role which netted her an Emmy Award nomination in 2001 and 2007. She has also appeared in a number of films including Sleepers, What About Bob, Jersey Girl, Deep Blue Sea, Mickey Blue Eyes and Bringing Out the Dead. She made her film debut opposite Geena Davis in the film, "Angie".
Turturro was born in New York City, daughter of Dorothy, a homemaker, and Domenick Turturro, an artist.[1] She grew up in the lower East side of New York. She lives on Long Island, New York. Actors John Turturro, Nicholas Turturro, and Natalie Turturro are her cousins.
