True Blood Dates: Awards: | Character Back Story: In ninth century Scandanavia when Eric was only a teenager, he joined up with a rogue band of warriors who refused to swear allegiance to any kingdom, because, in his own words "my destiny is to answer to no man." It wasn't long before Eric became leader of the group, which became briefly infamous for marauding the coast of what is now Germany and Poland. The group mysteriously vanished after a battle in 1077, and it has come to light that it was the vampire Godric who murdered Eric's men, but decided to spare Eric as he admired his personality and skill on the battlefield. Thinking he would be a perfect companion to accompany him through the world, Godric offered to teach Eric everything he knew, in exchange Eric would receive the thing which he loved most, life. It was at this point Godric proceeded to make Eric vampire.
