LOL. The first time I ever had to do a Combat Swim Test in the Army went a lot like that. I told my Drill Sergeants that I couldn't swim, but the pushed me into the deep end anyway. When i didn't come back up they had to jump into the pool and get me. They were all like "Why didn't you swim?!" and i said "Look, I told you that i couldn't. This isn't the little train that could, no matter how many times i think "I think i can, I think i can..." it's not going to magically give me the ability to tread water in 15 pounds of equipment." Needless to say, I got to stay on the shallow end of the pool for the rest of the testing, and i had to do a crap-load of pushups for getting cheeky with my Instructors. XD

The best thing to do if you have a desire to join the military Jozzy is to NOT listen to your family and friends initially. Do the research on your own and once you have enough information to make a decision, THAT is when you should talk to your family and friends about it. Never go into a fight unprepared. XD
