Alison Doody mini-bio: Born in Ireland in 1966, Alison Doody is the daughter of Patrick, a real estate investor, and Joan, a beautician. Educated in a convent, she was raised in a down-to-earth, loving family. She was introduced to the world of fashion very early on, her glossies having caught the attention of many photographers. Later, she studied the Fine Arts in college, but ultimately became weary of it and decided to quit. She moved on, did some modeling, and then tried some TV commercial work. One day, an Irish director caught hold of her profile and suggested she try acting instead. Referred to an acting agent in London, Alison kissed her family goodbye and moved to England at age 19 with the ambition of becoming an actress, despite the lack of formal film experience. In no time, she landed her first role: a baddie in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985). A few years later, after shooting a handful of Irish dramas, she broke into the movie industry big time when she was cast as Aryan seductress "Dr. Elsa Schneider", the female lead of the third Indiana Jones movie. After this she played in a few more movies and did some publicity in the U.S.. In 1994, she retired from movies and went back to Ireland to start a family. In 2002, Alison finally came out of retirement and realized how much she missed acting, although she never regretted quitting movies to take care of her family. Recently divorced, Alison is more than ever planning on a big screen comeback.
