Big break: Stargate SG-1

Defining characters: Captain/Major/Lt. Colonel/Colonel Samantha Carter in Stargate SG-1

Best movies: Amanda had a small role as a talk show host, Carrie Maddox, in Life or Something Like It, alongside Angeline Jolie. She had an even smaller role in the mini-series Earthsea. But most fan noted movies would be The Ark of Truth and Continuum, two direct-to-DVD Stargate movies.

Best TV: Amanda's two starring TV roles are both in successful sci-fi series, Stargate SG-1 and Sanctuary. Amanda also once made a guest appearance on the multiple Golden Globe and Emmy winning series, The X-Files.

Amanda Tapping Relationships

Family: Amanda married her husband, Alan Kovacs, on September 23, 1994. Their daughter, Olivia, was born March 22, 2005. She was pregnant during the beginning of season 9 of Stargate SG-1. She didnt appear in the first six episodes, except for a web conference where she could only be seen from the chest up. Once she returned to the show after giving girth to her daughter, she wore a lose coat for several more episodes.
Amanda has two living brothers, Richard and Christopher. Her Brother Steven died in December of 2006, due to complications involved with his epilepsy.

Frequent collaborator(s): Amanda is currently working with Martin Wood and Damian Kindler on her show Sanctuary. They were also involved in Stagate SG-1 and Atlantis.
