Anna Tsuchiya is a Japanese singer, songwriter, model, and actress. She
was born to a Russian-American father and Japanese mother.
Tsuchiya was scouted by Seventeen magazine at age 14 to start a m...( read more)odelling
career. She became very popular very fast. Even today she remains an
in-demand model for magazines like Kera, Soup, Zipper, and other youth punk
fashion magazines.
Anna made her acting debut in Novala Takemoto's adapted runaway hit
Shimotsuma Monogatari (Kamikaze Girls) in 2004 as punk yanki Ichigo
Shirayuri. Tsuchiya has also appeared in The Taste of Tea and provided the
voice of Lindsay Lohan's character Maggie Peyton in the Japanese dub of
Herbie: Fully Loaded. Her latest film is Sakuran, opening February 2007 in
Japan.
In 2002 Tsuchiya formed music group Spin Aqua with Kaz Iwaike. By 2003 the
band had slipped into an infinite hiatus and disbanded in early 2004.
Tsuchiya debuted as a solo artist during mid 2005. To date Tsuchiya has
released one mini album (Tast my Beat Remix), one album (Strip Me?), and 6
singles.
