Hathaway took more creative control over her image with her next projects and co-starred in the mature-themed Havoc and Brokeback Mountain (both 2005) and her contract with Disney was terminated afterward. The following year, Hathaway starred opposite Meryl Streep in the screen adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada (2006). Her acting-style is frequently compared to that of Judy Garland, Julia Roberts, and Audrey Hepburn, and she cites Hepburn as her favorite actress and Streep as her idol.

Born on November 12, 1982, Anne Hathaway has risen from a Disney starlet to a stunning young woman.

Anne was born in Brooklyn, New York, but moved to Millburn, New Jersey when she was six. Her parents are Gerarld Hathaway and Kate McCauley, and she has an older brother named Michael.

Anne was named after Shakespeare's wife.

Her debut acting job was actually in the short lived 1999 television series "Get Real" but her first prominent role was as Mia Thermopolis in Disney's The Princess Diaries., where she got to star alongside Julie Andrews.

She's appeared in several movies over the years, including Ella Enchanted, Havoc, Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada, and Get Smart.

In January 2009 she starred alongside Kate Hudson in the movie, Bride Wars. She is also slated to be playing the White Queen in Tim Burton's adaptation of "Alice In Wonderland".

She received an Oscar nomination for her role as Kym in "Rachel Getting Married". Although she did she not win, she got a chance to go onstage and perform a skit alongside Host Hugh Jackman in the opening sequence.
