 Avril Lavigne biography: Avril Ramona Lavigne was born on September 27, 1984 in a little city called Belleville which is located in Ontario, Canada. At the age of two, little Avril began to sing church songs along her mother and participated in many talent shows as a kid. She got her first guitar at a small age and in 1998, Avril won her first important contest singing along Shania Twain on her first major concert tour. Cliff Fabri discovered her at the time she was still performing country covers at an prestigious bookstore in Kingstone, Ontario.
Later, she was spotted by Steve Medd, a local folk singer, whoo tooked her and let Avril make some covers for him and also perform along him at his forthcoming album at that time, Quinte Spirit (1999). At the age of sixteen she signed her first contract with Ken Grongard, the representitive of Arista Records, who brought his boss, Antonio Reid, to hear her sing at the New York City Studio. That was when Avril Lavigne entered in the music world for good, and 2 years later she was releasing her first album "Let Go" a pop album with "a couple of rock songs in it".
