Takeshi Kitano mini-bio: Takeshi Kitano is a Japanese comedian, actor, and film director who has received
critical acclaim, both in his native Japan and abroad, for his highly idiosyncratic
cinematic work. With the exception of his works as a film director, he is known
almost exclusively by the name "Beat Takeshi".

I still haven't worked out how Takeshi-san touches me the way he does, but he does. From Violent Cop through to Dolls! Astonishing. If you want to see him at his most despicable, catch Blood And Bones. At his most loveable - Kikijuro.

I think Takeshi's castle was an original idea when it came out... but anyway here we're talking about kitano as a director/actor, not as a TV star... and he rocks!!

I personaly hate Takashi's castle it is just another away for those crazy Japanese to humiliate themselves, but him as Katano in Battle Royale was a great role.
