Mini-bio: Ben Foster, born October 29th, 1980, in Boston, Massachusetts, was swiftly moved by his parents to be raised in Fairfield, Iowa - a town that had four community theaters. His passion for acting was di...( read more)scovered early on, and after starring in the title role in "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," put on by one of the community theaters, he wrote, directed, and starred in his own play at the age of 12, a play that won second place in an international competition.

After attending Interlochen Theater Arts Summer Program at age 14 in Interlochen, Michigan, it was only a matter of time before Ben dropped out of high school at the age of 16 and moved to Los Angeles, California, where he was almost immediately snapped up for the Disney show "Flash Forward" (1996), in which two friends narrate the highs and lows of high school.

His film debut was a small role in the little-seen Kounterfeit (1996), after which he was solicited for several made-for-TV movies and appearances on television shows before reaching his next milestone, Liberty Heights (1999), where he played alongside Adrien Brody and Joe Mantegna as a rebellious Jewish teen who engages in a forbidden relationship with a Black girl.

His first starring movie role was in the film Get Over It (2001), where he starred along with Kirsten Dunst as a lovelorn teen, and then the beautifully crafted Bang, Bang, You're Dead (2002) (TV), in which he played Trevor Adams, the starring role. Still, until 2005, his parts for the most part were small but beautifully played, and then he landed the role of Marshall Krupcheck in the movie Hostage (2005/I), an intense piece of acting that made people begin to take notice and recognize his potential and talent.

Since then, he received major roles in two major movies, Alpha Dog (2006) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006).

Dropped out of high school his freshman year to move to Los Angeles.

Dated actress Kirsten Dunst [August 2000 - March 2001].

Brother of actor Jon Foster.

Won second place in an international competition at the age of 12 for a play that he wrote and directed.

Raised in Fairfield, Iowa.

His favorite bands are R.E.M. and Dead Can Dance.

His favorite actress is Claire Danes, and his favorite actors are James Dean and Sean Penn.

His favorite movie is One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975).

Was originally offered the part of Eddie O'Hare in The Door in the Floor (2004), but he thought he was too old for the role and gave up the role to younger brother, Jon Foster because he thought it was better suited for him.

Co-starred in two Marvel adaptations featuring Rebecca Romijn, The Punisher (2004) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006).

Discovered by casting director Cecily Adams, who saw a homemade audition tape Foster had sent her from his home in Iowa. She called his parents and told them that, while she could make no guarantees, they should put him on a plane to Los Angeles immediately. They did so, and he landed the lead role in the pilot she was casting, "Flash Forward" (1996).

Such a creative and diversified actor that you will see him in one movie and he'll be in another one an you won't even realize its him. He can go from creepy like in aplha dog and punisher to funny in Get over it to courageous and majestic in X-Men III. So one of my favs!!!

First noticed him as the hottie Angel in the last X-Men movie. Recently saw Alpha Dogs and Hostage, not realizing it was the same guy in all three movies. This guy is not only sexy as all get out, but immensely talented. I'm expecting huge things from this man and I'm looking forward to seeing them.

This Man Is the New up and commer everyone is going to notice..its been a busy year or so for him..he came out with a bang in alpha-dog, playing a kickass skinhead (which i dont condone) awesomely, then he plays the 2nd in command in 3:10 to yuma.. and let me tell you in both roles he had such passion he played them both flawlessly..recently in 30 days of night and he leads the vamps into the town..playing fabulously a nasty cutthroat asshole, but he did it so well..alot of roles you see people play anymore you think of other things they have been in and who would of played it better.. when you watch this man..you stay concentrated on him and only him and wonder..what is he going to do next? ...I am eagerly waiting..
