The BeginningBratt's mother was a Peruvian Quechua, born in Lima, who moved to the U.S. at age 14. Born in San Francisco, CA, Bratt attended Lowell High School, where he developed his dramatic and oratory skills as a member of the Lowell Forensic Society. Bratt went on to earn a B.F.A. at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Although accepted into the masters at the American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco, CA, he left before receiving his degree to star in the television series, Juarez, which never aired.The Television & Film StarHis brother Peter Bratt wrote and directed Follow Me Home. Bratt's best-known role was that of Detective Rey Curtis on the television show Law & Order. The character's Mestizo ancestry, a mix of Native Peruvian and German-English backgrounds, was the same as Bratt's. In 1999, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work on the series. His more popular films include Miss Congeniality, Abandon and Traffic. Bratt dated Julia Roberts for several years.The Husband & FatherOn April 12, 2002, he married actress Talisa Soto, whom he met while filming Piero. The only man I've seen who can hold his own in perfection of physical beauty with the likes of Halle Berry & Angelina Jolie. Then, as if that wasn't enough, the man can act his beautiful ass off! You know if ULALI immortalized him in song, he must be one fine, sweet brother-man.
