| Christina Ricci biography: Christina Ricci is an Emmy Award-nominated American actress who first found fame for her role as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family and its sequel Addams Family Values . Her first big screen role was alongside Cher in Mermaids. This led to a successful career in the 1990s with hits such as Casper and Now and Then. She has featured in a wide variety of films including, art house films such as The Ice Storm , dramas such as Monster , independent comedies such as The Opposite of Sex , for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress, and blockbusters such as Sleepy Hollow and Speed Racer. Ricci endured the transition from a child star to teenage idol and adult actress and currently holds her own production company, Blaspheme Films, responsible for Pumpkin and Prozac Nation. She stated in 2006 that she feels she is too short to become an A-list actress and that she has little career control and has to audition for parts. Despite this she has two new films on the way After.Life and All's Faire in Love.
