Conrad Veidt mini-bio: Best known for his roles as Césare in The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) and General Strasser in Casablanca (1942), Veidt was born in Potsdam, Germany in 1893. Veidt was one of the most famous movie stars of the Weimar Republic. He left Germany after Hitler took power and moved to England to continue his acting career. He died of a heart attack while golfing in Hollywood in 1943.
