LOS ÁNGELES [AP]. Cyd Charisse, protagonista de algunas obras maestras del cine musical, murió en Los Ángeles a los 86 años. Charisse ingresó al centro médico Cedars-Sinai el lunes pasado tras sufrir un ataque cardíaco, dijo su publicista Gene Schwam.
La actriz y bailarina, una belleza de piernas largas que nació en Texas en 1921, apareció en cintas dramáticas, pero su fama proviene principalmente de los musicales que protagonizó bajo contrato con la Metro entre los años 40 y 50.También forjó una popular sociedad de canto y baile con su esposo, el cantante Tony Martin, con quien se casó en 1948 e hizo presentaciones en televisión y en centros nocturnos.
