He is one of two actors to play Mas Amedda in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. In Episode I, he was preceded in the role by British actor Jerome Blake. Bowers took on the role in Episode II and Episode III, since both films were shot in his native Australia. Additional Senate scenes were written after principal photography wrapped and were shot in England, where Blake played the role for those scenes, but is not credited.
