Replace this image with an actor photoDavid Warner mini-bio: David Warner once described his childhood as "messy". His father changed jobs often and moved from town to town. David attended eight schools and "failed his exams at all of them". His parents separated when he was a teenager and he only saw his mother again seven years later - on her deathbed. After a series of odd jobs, he was accepted at the Royal Academy Of Dramatic Arts (RADA) where he was very unhappy. After RADA, he became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and got the part of Blifil in Tom Jones (1963). With the title role in Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment (1966) and a two-year stint as Hamlet with the RSC, Warner became a star at 24.

Yes, *Sir* David Warner! I like it. What's taking so long? He's been a favorite actor of mine for almost thirty years now, and I've seen him play just about every kind of role, from good guys to bad guys to misfits to lovable kooks, and he's totally convincing in all of them. I have a special fondness for him as a villain (having first seen him in "Time After Time") or a misfit (he's amazing in "Ragtime Summer," "Hostile Takeover," "The Sea Gull," and "Straw Dogs," for example) or lovable kook (his portrayal of "Morgan" is a complete tour de force), and I think his comic talents are way underutilized. Maybe now that he's back in England, he'll get more meaty roles that are worthy of his talent--and more recognition for them. (BTW, I vote for David Warner for Rufus Scrimgeour in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." Anybody else? And how can we get his main photo changed to one that actually looks like him instead of the only one that doesn't?!)
