Adding on to the previous post, The 007 film Diana Rigg starred in also featured the future 4th Avengers girl after Rigg & Thorson, namely Joanna Lumley. In the film Lumley is one of Blofeld's(Savalas) "angels of death". In fact, the only Avengers girl who was not also a Bond girl is Linda "Tara King" Thorson...

When "The Avengers" debuted on British tv in the early sixties, it starred Patrick McNee as "John Steed" and Honor Blackman as his judo/jiu-jitsu expert-partner, "Cathy Gale". Blackman's character wore leather jumpsuits with a motorcycle look to them and projected a sultry image onbscreen. After a couple of years Blackman moved on to do films, and found perpetual fame as "Pussy Galore", opposite Sean Connery's "James Bond" in "Goldfinger". Blackman was replaced in "The Avengers" by Diana Rigg, as "Emma Peel" (the name derives from M-Appeal or Man-Appeal), another body tossing jijitsu queen who was more sophisticated and lady-like...and somewhat less "butch"-seeming than "Cathy Gale". Emma caught on like wildfire and is an icon of the 1960s now. After "Avengers", Rigg starred in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and later did many more films, as well as serving as long-running host to the PBS tv series "Mystery". Now Dame Diana Rigg, she is mostly retired but does make some appearances.
