"A nail-biting horror movie that has audiences alternately covering their eyes in fear during scenes of gory revelation, or guffawing out loud" - ColeSmithey.com "A seamless pastiche of 1970s and early 1980s horror, resulting in a blend of mean-spiritedness, gore and comedy that is truly infectious." - Movie Gazette "Definitely unforgettable, it's destined for cult classic status." - BBC "Proves how effective a horror flick can be when it's put together with some care, enthusiasm and ingenuity." - eye WEEKLY ""Cabin Fever" will get under your skin." - Quad City Times (Davenport, IA) "There are scenes that will make even the most seasoned horror fan squirm — nothing can prepare you for when Cerina Vincent gets into the bathtub." - FilmStew.com "This one has 'cult film' written all over it." - Journal News (Westchester, NY) "Taken as a horror movie, it is the best of its breed in ages. Taken as a commentary on human behavior, it's even more terrifying." - Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, IL) "You won't want to eat, drink or be touched after a bout of Cabin Fever." - Seattle Times "Cabin Fever gets the job done. It's appropriately gruesome and genuinely scary -- and, despite the body count and the way people die here, it has a wicked sense of humor." - Sacramento Bee "Because of its gruesome subject matter, it is difficult to describe such a vile movie as being good, or even well made, but this one really is." - Hollywood.com "It's got sex, comedy, gore, gallons of blood, and several popcorn-throwing moments - everything you expect in a horror movie, but don't always get." - TheMovieChicks.com
"Endlessly entertaining horror film." - Arizona Daily Star "It's a blast of good gory fun that just won't quit." - Rolling Stone "A skin-crawling, gut-busting, Karo-syrup covered good time ... can have you falling out of your seat with laughter one minute and wincing in disgust the next - or both simultaneously." - eFilmCritic.com "Love this for what is...a good old-fashioned T&A pointless blood fest." - Blunt Review "Roth knows his stuff, and he’s got enough talent to both effectively pull out all the stops on his gross-outs and smack the mordant side of your funny bone." - Premiere Magazine "In an era of campy horror movies, it's a pleasure to see one that's the real thing." - Compuserve "The second truly innovative horror flick to make its way to American cinemas this year." - Film Threat "A well-crafted, truly nasty piece of work." - culturevulture.net "As faithful as any 21st-century effort has come to matching the look and feel of a 1970's "backwoods" splatter flick...I smell a cult following in the making." - TheMovieBoy.com "Tries to be both genuinely scary and gruesomely funny...The mixture is sufficiently eccentric...to be worth a look--for those who can tolerate the abundant gore." - One Guy's Opinion "Gory, scary, smart and funny, this is definitely one of the best horror films I've seen in years." - Film Threat |

"On a level playing field, Sullivan's remake is a better film [than the original] in every regard...Not for grandma, but loads of crude fun otherwise." - Los Angeles CityBeat "Way better than the original!" - sbs.is "Basically, this movie’s out to disgust just about everyone." - CampBlood.org "I had a good time watching "2001 Maniacs". Any horror fan will get into it. It’s surely not the scariest movie ever made. Actually, it’s not even trying to be scary. It just wants to show you a good gory time with Mayor Englund and his hungry maniacs. You can’t blame it for that." - Dr. Gore's movie reviews "Bloody, bloody, bloody good fun...If you’re squeamish, skip it. If you’re not, you’ve got to see it. This is B-grade camp at its bloody best." - eFilmCritic Reviews "You dig unrestrained gore? You enjoy Bobby Englund chewing the scenery fervently? You relish TNA (chicks get some male stuff too, so it’s all good for them too)? You have a swell sense of humor and are not offended when it comes to off color joke? YES? Then partake in this "Guts, tits and Glory Jubilee" and thank me in the freaking morning with a glass of Jack and blow-up dolls that look like the TATU gals." - Arrow in the Head "I haven't had so much fun watching a horror film in a long time, I've been waiting patently for years to see "2001 Maniacs" I first got wind of it a few years back and after reading the synopsis, I was very eager to see it. We I did wait a few years and finally I got to see it on DVD this week. It was well worth the wait. In great B-movie fashion "2001 Maniacs" delivers." - The Horror Review [Horror Bob] "Beyond my perceived social need for this kind of film, I’ll tell you this: you’re going to laugh, you’re going to be disgusted, and when the end-credit song and dance sequence of Lewis’ original theme scrolls by you’ll be singing along that the south will indeed rise again!" - Dread Central "I predict that this movie will be a cult classic among horror fans in the near future." - Evil Dread "The thread of black comedy that holds the film together makes 2001 Maniacs a coherent and campy orgy of blood, breasts and bogeymen, guaranteed to insight some serious laughter and surprising shake ups amongst the viewing audience." - Bloody-Disgusting.com [Tex Massacre] "It's been a while since I've seen a gore comedy that was as wholly satisfying as 2001 Maniacs." - DVD Crypt [Mike Long] "Maniacs is one of those films where you either embrace its crude and rude take or hate it outright – on these terms, I must confess to having rather enjoyed it." - The Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy Film Review "Just pure and simple entertainment!" - TerrorHook.com "2001 Maniacs is a cracking throwback to good old-fashioned blood, guts and T&A horror films. It's a total must see for horror fans everywhere. Ye-haw!" - Popcorn Pictures "2001 Maniacs is definitely a horror fans wet dream come true, with sick scenes like acid being forced down a guys throat, limbs teared off one by one, eyeballs popping from eye sockets, a awesome blow job scene involving metal teeth and so much more gore, which i wont say cause i don't want to give away too much of the movie!" - DVD Resurrections "A smattering of decent humour, plenty of blood, simple plot and a brisk pace, it's just one of those films that put a smile on my face for most of its duration... good harmless horror fun." - Blood and Fear Review "H.G. Lewis' southern-fried gore classic gets a solid sequel--four decades after the original." - Epinions [Mike Bracken] "2001 Maniacs is one of the funniest, goriest, most offensive movies I've seen in a long time." - Ain't It Cool News "2001 Maniacs, however, is a sharp blast of gore-soaked debauchery, and ranks as one of the best films I've seen so far this year." - The Film Fiend "A gore-soaked tribute to a horror classic, 2001 Maniacs provides a good time for fans of splatter." - Movie Feast "2001 Maniacs is a solid genre effort, with more than enough pluses to warrant an enthusiastic recommendation for those interested in the genre." - BeyondHollywood.com "What can I say about 2001 MANIACS? Well, let me just say that this movie is a bloody ball o’ fun. Is it perfect? No, not at all, but I wouldn’t want it any other way." - BumsCorner.com [Rufus] "A fantastic flick so diverse from the crap we’ve had to sit through lately, 2001 MANIACS keeps you entertained with gore, humor and creativity (and not to mention quite a few cameos!)." - Horror & Hilarity |

"Hostel is a fine horror flick. I was pleased. There is plenty of blood, gore and general sickness here to please any horror fan." - Dr. Gore's movie reviews "Hostel had the "Arrow in the Head" checklist checked and then some! Hot babes showing off them knockers, vicious violence, graphic gore, frat boy humor and a last block that broke mucho rules in terms of political correctness and good taste. I LOVED IT!" - Arrow in the Head "Hostel is probably the best Saw-like film I’ve seen so far." - Oh, the Horror! [Brett H.] "I really did dig the hell out of Hostel...Hostel is great if you're looking for a relatively gory horror thriller in the vein of Saw." - Slasherpool "What follows is an unrelenting ride through a world of torture and sadism, and this is where Hostel truly soars." - Dread Central "Hostel did pretty much what I expected, delivering a hint of what is yet to come from Roth - the horror fan's director. If only they would just give him a break and let him come of age before dismissing him as shallow or over-commercial. This film will probably stay with you for a while afterwards, but hopefully not too long." - Eat My Brains "First and foremost, though, this is a horror movie…it wants to entertain you. Oh and will you be entertained!" - Fatally Yours "What’s most frightening about Hostel is not the pain nor the sadism. What’s terrifying on the deepest level is the display of cruelty and the frank observation of what certain members of our species would do to each other if they had the ultimate power. It’s about helplessness. It’s about being at the mercy of the one creature on Earth that could treat you with the most inhumanity imaginable." - Happy Horror - DVD Review "This one is your passport to terror — think of it as going to Misery-Land. Slide in, belt up, and hang on: Hostel is the horror movie equivalent of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride!" - Horror.com "On the other side of the fence, horror critics went one of three ways. The kindred fan boys applauded, errr, hollered about the movie’s nudity and gore, others lambasted the thriller for not being suspenseful, while a small portion spent time commenting upon the film’s economic and moral criticism. In respect to the latter trio, they are all correct." - The Horror Review [Egregious Gurnow] "Hostel really does have some heart-pounding moments that at times, makes for a truly frightening experience with a bizarre mix of black comedy thrown in for good measure." - Monsters At Play "A thoroughly intriguing twist on the horror genre." - Oscar Guy "***1/2, It is quite one of the most brutal films that one has ever seen in mainstream multiplex release." - The Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy Film Review "***, Becomes a full-blooded, and at times disturbing, picture of human depravity. - The Video Graveyard "Will be hugely offensive to those troubled by sex and violence on film, but this is one destined to be a cult classic amongst slasher fans." - Twitch "Roth tickles our fear-bone: the fear comes from being helpless while someone can commit any form of injury on you, and fear also comes from the knowledge that the amoral townsfolk in this creepy village gladly share in this consumerism-from-hell scenario." - Zombos Closet of Horror "Roth is able to change the focus from frolicking raunchiness to extreme chilliness in a way that's quite sobering." - ESplatter "Truly chilling, well-acted, and tense as hell." - IGN Movies "A disturbing, uncompromising descent into the blackest corners of human nature." - TheMovieBoy.com
"A steady, grueling, suspenseful march to a raucous finish that is likely to give it a devoted cult following." - Tyler Morning Telegraph (Texas) "It's a nasty piece of work, and work it does." - TV Guide's Movie Guide "It all adds up to superior sick entertainment. - Los Angeles Daily News "Hostel is more artfully horrific than the usual gore flick, and more truly scary. It's a small classic of its awful kind." - MTV |

 | Reviews:
"This second film definitely shows Roth's absolute courage as a director. He didn't pull any punches with this follow up." - ESplatter "I was scared, I was creeped out and I was grossed out... Hostel Part II is damn unsettling." - CHUD "Any blood here is pumping straight to the brain. Hostel: Part II is astute and subversive, its wily sexual politics paving the way for a killer climax. Significantly raising his game, Eli Roth has crafted a sequel to die for." - Total Film "Eli Roth has actually improved upon the first Hostel film, delivering a higher quotient of gore, but more importantly delivering an incredibly streamlined, and dare I say, mature spin on the slasher genre." - IGN Movies "Generally speaking, I hate horror films. What surprised me most about this is that it's more than just torture porn, it's actually a real movie with, like a story and some acting, and cinematography and stuff like that. Who knew?" - Eclipse Magazine "For the first time, [Roth's] sense of humor doesn't undercut the unsettling nature of the material." - LYTRules.com "All the realism of an abbatoir." - BBC "Eli Roth's Hostel: Part II is an authentic real-world creep show -- better, if anything, than its predecessor." - Entertainment Weekly "The movie is almost totally devoid of suspense, which is one of the marks of a true exploitation film. Why waste time with a bunch of false scares and tension, when you can go straight to the pain and suffering?" - San Francisco Chronicle "When it comes down to it, Hostel Part II is the near perfect sequel, a money mandated continuation that actually works as a companion piece to the original effort." - PopMatters "Hostel: Part II offers more hard-core horror and an even more outspoken message [than the first]." - Minneapolis Star Tribune "There's a keen intelligence behind all that gleeful degradation and it pays off in a finish that's at once ironic, satirical, and perversely satisfying." - AV Cluc "The horrorific scenes are not merely about splatter and gore; they carry a grim emotional weight because they’re attached to characters we’ve followed and come to know." - FilmStew.com "Roth is not you're run of the mill schlock horror director. He's smart, and his films are clever works of nastiness." - KPBS.org "Whereas the first film began as a college kid's wet dream and ended as a nightmare, Hostel: Part II is cloaked in a pall of dread and darkness from frame one. Even the lighter moments in the first act seem like taunting harbingers of doom." - TheMovieBoy.com "...an improvement over its predecessor in that Roth keeps the tone more consistent and gives us more likable heroines, but we're all still waiting for Roth to bust out a truly genre-defining film." - FromTheBalcony "It's beautifully put-together and it builds to a satisfying climax in which Roth implies that if men are capable of great violence and women are capable of great violence, then that would include just about all of us sitting in the audience, too." - St. Paul Pioneer Press "Social commentary, gore galore, and a truly disturbing denouement: This is Roth's best nightmare yet." - Austin Chronicle "Hostel: Part II has something that most bigger-budgeted and more heavily promoted sequels don't: the ambition to not only repeat the experience of its predecessor, but to expand and improve upon it." - Reel.com "Fans of horror, and more importantly those who believe in the inherent evil of humans, will feel right at home watching this one." - Philadelphia Daily News "It's something of an accomplishment to stage deaths so disgusting, the main reaction is nervous laughter." - Newark Star-Ledger "Smarter and tougher than its predecessor." - New York Daily News "It's sick. It's twisted. Some scenes made me want to throw up. But I loved it. God help me." - Film School Rejects |
