Kramer starred in 1990 film Quest for the Mighty Sword, remembered as a notably bad movie. He played Thor in the television movie The Incredible Hulk Returns. Among Kramer's more notable roles have been Little John in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Bear in American Wedding, and Boris, bodyguard to producer Lee Donowitz, in True Romance. He has also appeared in a number of television series, including CSI, JAG, Murder, She Wrote, and Phil of the Future. He also made an appearance as a bar patron who bullies John Goodman in an early episode of Roseanne. He was a series regular in the sitcom Bob as Whitey van de Bunt (1993), and appeared in Down Home as the husband of star Judith Ivey.



Kramer played Alan Hale, Jr. in Surviving Gilligan's Island: The Incredibly True Story of the Longest Three Hour Tour in History, a 2001 comic recreation of the behind-the-scenes events surrounding Gilligan's Island, and had recurring roles in Malcolm & Eddie, Hope & Gloria, and Lois & Clark (as Drull). In 1998-2002, Kramer had a recurring role as neighbor Dave Rogers in The Hughleys. He was cast in the pilot of The Class, but was replaced for the regular series.



Kramer continues to work on the stage as a member of the Antaeus Classical Rep Company in Los Angeles, and received an Ovation Award nomination for his role in "The Wood Demon".
