| Character back story: Dorothy Dandridge was a singer, entertainer and actress. Despite her striking beauty and obvious talent, Dandridge was a sexy, glamorous black femme fatale at a time when Hollywood pin-up queens were supposed to be giggly blondes. The film industry didn't know what to do with her, and while her nightclub act was a bit too smooth for the Southern roadhouse circuit, as a black performer she wasn't allowed to stay in many of the hotels and resorts where she performed. Dandridge also had a sad personal life, filled with tragedy and romantic disappointment, and she died of an overdose of pills in 1965, at the age of 41.

Earl Mills: I take that walk with you every night, you know. Dorothy Dandridge: But the difference is, Earl, you don't HAVE to!
- Dorothy Dandridge: Harold says I'm the most beautiful girl in the world.
Geri Nicholas: I'd rather be smart than beautiful. Dorothy Dandridge: Well, I'd rather be beautiful. Geri Nicholas: Beauty fades. A woman gets old. Dorothy Dandridge: Not me. I'm staying young and beautiful until the day I die!

| Occupation: Teacher
| Personality type: Caring for her fellow mutants
| Signature look: White Hair
| Resides: The X-Mansion
| Fun facts/trivia: Bryan Singer cast Halle Berry as Storm after seeing her performance in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.
Halle Berry (Storm) was supposed to wear opaque white lenses for the scenes where she uses her weather-control powers. However, she found the lenses unbearable, so her eye effects had to be done entirely through CGI.
(X-Men: The Last Stand) Halle Berry had initially decided not to reprise her role as Storm for this film, citing lack of character development in the previous two installments and a tense relationship with director Bryan Singer. However, after Singer's departure and suffering a major box-office flop with Catwoman, Berry agreed to return on the condition that her role be expanded. Consequently in this film Storm serves as leader of the X-Men, which is keeping with the comics since she served as team leader for a time in Xavier's absence.
