Hiroyuki Sanada mini-bio: At the young age of 5 years old Sanada debuted in Rokyoku komori-uta (1965) (Sonny Chiba played the lead role.) At 11, his father passed away- and at 12 he joined Japan Action Club, an organization run by Sonny Chiba. Sanada first became famous as an action star for his role in Yagyû ichizoku no inbô (1978), and currently he is known as one of the most talented actors in Japan. Sanada was in an english language production of "King Lear" with the Royal Shakespeare Co From 1999 to 2000. He was the first Japanese actor to play with the RSC. For this achievement he received an honorary MBE (Member of the British Empire).

I think he is really good actor. His acting has a real. And he can do anything,, action, Tate(acting with Japanese sword),playing the musical instrument, dance,,. Recently he appears even foreigin movies. Rush hour 3 is the one He appeared recently.Please check it out.

Mr Hiroyuki Sanada is one of my absolute favorites, what comes to actors.
However, recent development of his career is bit worrying, as I see it.
Hollywood may give more money for him, but he is in crappy bi:roles in mainstream movies!
If he would become one of the most famous in that world, it would be even worse. Being one of the most famous actor/actress in Hollywood context would in same time diminish his acting personality.

He has been in cool roles so far... but has he sold his (actor's) soul to become one of those hundreds or thousands famous ones... while giving up his (actor's) personality?

Please, go back to good choices of movies!
Please, do not take big money over great characters/personalities!
You are way too good for that!!!

OMG I can't believe I actually found a copy of The Twilight Samurai in our small little city of Brandon!!! LOL, I never seen it before, and I'm really looking forward to watching it!! after seeing The Last Samurai, this Canadian gal took an interest in Hiroyuki Sanada!
