A true sex queen of the 1960s, Honor Blackman appeared in British t.v. and films frequently and came to notoriety initially as the leather-clad judo expert, agent Cathy Gale in the adventure series "The Avengers", with Patrick McNee as John Steed. Blackman left the series (to be replaced by Diana Rigg as Emma Peel) and entered films. She was cast by Harry Saltzman and Albert Broccoli to play the role of Pussy Galore in 1964's "Goldfinger", a role which...through herappearance, performance, and the character name itself...made her a worldwide star. She appeared again with "Goldfinger" star Sean Connery (and Brigitte Bardot) in the Louis L'Amour western "Shalako".
