in America, we are shocked by the discovery of Mr Laurie, and wonder where he's been all of these years. I myself saw him in Sense and Sensibility when i was 5, and wondered why it was so difficult to find more films with that hilarious man with the beautiful blue eyes.

England, however, is not confused, for Mr. Laurie has been appearing in many roles both in television and on the screen, mostly in comedy, for many many years. If you feel there's not enough House in your life, here are some lovely things produced mainly by the BBC that i suggest:

For the Python fans: A Bit of Fry and Laurie
This is a brittish sketch comedy, written by and starring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. If you liked flying circus, you'll love this

For Austen fans:

Jeeves and Wooster
A nostalgic comedy about a rich British fool who gets in to scrapes and is saved by his butler. Great fun.

The Young Visiters
A nostalgic fantastic romp based on the classic book (of the same name) written by a nine year old girl, this film will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

For girls who have crushes on House: Maybe Baby
A film directed and written by John Elton, is almost a typical romantic comedy, and has lots of lovely nudie scenes.

For sophisticated Kenneth Braunnagh fans: Peter's Friends
A bit more serious than most of Hugh Laurie's other works, this poignant film shows dysfunctional friends in all of their messes thrown together for a new years weekend.
Packs a laugh and a tear with every scene.

For Mr Bean Fans: Black Adder ("goes forth," & "back and forth")
Series, and movie, written by lots of good brittish comedians but including Rowan Atkinson and Stephen Fry, lots of fun, and lots of making fun of history.

For Astaire fans: The Girl from Rio aka Chica de Rio
Laurie dances Samba.
Need i say more?

Emma Thompson Fans: Sense and Sensibility, and The Crystal Cube.
To the former, yes. He is in it. And though he plays a small part, to me he almost steals the film.
The latter is a delightful example of they're young comedy troup days, and a hilarious example of Fry & Laurie's writing style/talent.

Suspense: All or Nothing At All
its quite good, especially if you like that genre.
