I'd never seen Ian McKelllen young before, but in the young picture of him in the wiki he is shockingly handsome.

Ian McKellen is one of the most versatile actors I have seen in the movies. I of course loved him as Gandalf in Lord of the Rings which also by the way is one of my favorite series.
Mr McKellen is also a brave man who asserts himself in who he is and does not apologize. I remember I saw him on television in the Oscars with his young lover at the time holding hands in front of the camera. Touche! Ian McKellen one of my positive role models I've come across in film.

i am very disapointed. i loved ian mckellen in the lord of the rings and i had so much respact for him! he was my hero untill that is when i heard he was in an athiest type movie called the golden compass, all of my respect left me...it makes me want to cry that hed be in a movie that worships stuff like deamons and witches when i thought for sure he would never try to top being in something amazing like the lord of the rings
