Fisher mini-bio: She began appearing in commercials on Australian television at the age of nine, before going on to win roles in popular children's television shows Bay City and Paradise Beach.She attended Methodist Ladie's College and appeared in lead roles in school productions. Her breakthrough role was as Shannon Reed on Home and Away, which she played from 1994-1997. After leaving the soap, Fisher enrolled at a theatre and arts training school in Paris and went on to appear in Pantomime in the United Kingdom.She also toured with Darren Day in the musical Summer Holiday and appeared in the London theatre production"Cosi".During this time, she wrote two books, Seduced by Fame and Bewitched. In 2002, she had a part in Scooby-Doo as Mary-Jane, Shaggy's love interest. A larger role in Wedding Crashers in 2005 won her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the MTV Movie Awards. She is engaged to Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G). Isla Fisher has joined Simon Pegg in “Burke and Hare,” a horror comedy that marks John Landis’ return to feature directing after more than 10 years.
Written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, “Hare” is based on the true story a pair of the U.K.’s earliest serial killers, William Burke and William Hare, gravediggers who lucratively sold the corpses of their victims to a medical college for dissection.
Fisher will play Pegg’s girlfriend, an actress looking for a patron who might or might not be an accomplice to the murders.
The movie begins shooting Jan. 31 in Edinburgh and London, bringing Landis back to the scene of his 1981 hit “An American Werewolf in London.”
