Busey was born in Los Angeles, California, the ...( read more)son of Judy Lynn Helkenberg, a photographer, and actor Gary Busey. His parents divorced when he was 19. He has a sister, Electra "Ellie" Busey. Busey's start in acting came in the 1978 feature film, Straight Time, wherein he portrayed the son of his real-life father, Gary Busey, and Kathy Bates. His eleventh film was 1994's S.F.W., where he played Morrow Streeter. Busey's roles have ranged from the smart-mouthed soldier Ace Levy in 1997's Starship Troopers to the psychotic hitchhiker in 2002's The Hitcher 2: I've Been Waiting. Busey has played a few notable villains, examples of which include his portrayal of a religious fanatic in the 1997 film Contact, and undead serial killer Johnny Bartlett in The Frighteners.



Busey also starred in the 1999 UPN television comedy Shasta McNasty. As of 2007, he has 46 feature films under his belt.
