Replace this image with an actor photoJamie Johnston mini-bio: Jamie got into the business around the age of 10 through modeling, following in the footsteps of his older brother Chris. They did catalogue work, ad campaigns, book covers, runway shows, television fashion segments, commercials, amateur theatre, and worked as extras in film and television.

After getting his feet wet on smaller roles, Jamie landed his first lead role playing Adam Frake in the series, "Zixx: Level One." Each episode was a series of clues toward solving the puzzle of Adam's missing mother to ultimately beat the boss monster and reach the next level. It was a very demanding shooting schedule, with Jamie in almost every scene, and was a great learning experience. Jamie has filmed some television guest roles and shot two movies-of-the-week for the Lifetime Network in the U.S. On "More Than Meets the Eye: The Joan Brock Story," Jamie learned what it's like to live in a blind world, working with blind children to prepare for the role. Hearing Joan Brock's incredible story firsthand and eventually winning a Young Artist Award in Los Angeles for his role as Corey Mason was a most meaningful and lasting memory. His second movie for Lifetime was "Killer Instinct: From the Files of Agent Candace DeLong." Jamie played Deegan Schaur - a boy who had been abducted, physically and mentally abused and ultimately rescued by Agent DeLong. It was a very difficult role to play because of the subject matter. Candace DeLong was played by multiple Emmy Award winning actress, Jean Smart ("24", "Designing Women"). After a North American-wide search for the character of Cliff Woodall in the new series "Wild Card," Jamie was cast as brother to Hannah and Taylor, three siblings coping with the untimely death of their mother in a car accident -- an accident that Cliff felt he had caused. Jamie was nominated for his second Young Artist Award for his characterization of Cliff Woodall. "Wild Card" filmed for 2 seasons and can be seen in reruns regularly. The most personally rewarding experience associated with Degrassi was the opportunity to travel to Kenya in August 2007 with the "Free the Children" organization. He and several other castmates built a school and spent time with the locals exploring traditional Kipsigis communities and learning more about their culture, language, song and dance. It will be a trip he will always remember and luckily will have a recorded memory because MTV sent a film crew to document the trip.
