Joshua Lee Holloway was born on July 20, 1969 in Northern California but moved after only two years to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia (Freehome, GA), where he was raised the second-eldest of four boys. He graduated from Cherokee High School in Canton, GA. From an early age he discovered a passion and love for films. After one year at the University of Georgia, he embarked on a successful modeling career which took him all over Europe and North America.

Holloway's pursuit of acting brought him to Los Angeles, where he soon landed a role in the comedy "Doctor Benny," opposite Eddie McClintock and Sarah Wynter. He followed that up with lead roles in the independent films "Mi Amigo," "Moving August" and "Cold Heart," in which he starred opposite Nastassja Kinski. He then gained considerable notice for his lead role in the Sci-Fi channel's "Sabretooth," with David Keith and John Rhys-Davies. Most recently he guest starred on "CSI" and "Navy NCIS."

Holloway is best known for his role as James "Sawyer" Ford in the hit television series Lost. The show propelled Holloway to celebrity status, but left him with little time to leverage his fame with other roles. According to USA Today, he took himself out of consideration for a role in a Brad Pitt Western due to the demands of his filming schedule. Nevertheless, he found time to star in the thriller Whisper and he also ventured into the world of video games in Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. In the game, he plays the role of a Brotherhood of Nod intelligence officer named Ajay whose primary role is to assist players by supplying information that is crucial to upcoming battles.

Holloway is currently starring as bad-boy Sawyer on ABC hit drama Lost. In the summer of 2008, Holloway joined the cast of Stay Cool, a comedy by the Polish Brothers. He costars with Wynona Ryder, Chevy Chase, Sean Astin, Mark Polish, Jon Cryer and Hilary Duff. Stay Cool's release date is set for 2009.

Hi josh, well I just like to say your a very good actor. You did an excellent job on the show lost. I just liked your attitude and your acting. Anyway great job you did on that show. I watched all the seasons on my netflix, but I am wanting to see seasons 5 and 6 now. Can't wait for them to be put out. I don't want to wait, I am going to buy those two seasons.
