Okada got into Johnny’s by a show called “Tensai Takeshi no deru TV.” There was a corner called “Johnny’s Yobikou” so his mother sent an application form for him to be in the audition to become a Johnny’s Jr. Okada said that he was a bit mad back then, since his mother never told him about sending a application form. First to enter Johnny's Jimusho without going through junior stage, Okada had a tough time catching up with his bandmates who are his sempais in the agency. In fact their oldest member is 10 years older than him and most have already established their own fandom .
