“I think it's always important to do what you believe in, and to do what you're passionate about. You know, that keeps you excited. And you get to meet the most amazing people. Even at times when I couldn't get a job, I would drop things that I didn't believe in.” --- Kate Hudson
With her charming personality, her award-winning performances, and enviable relationships with her family and friends, Kate Hudson emanates success in the best sense of the word. Hudson’s on-screen success erupted in 2000 at the release of Almost Famous (2000).
Though she had already done a number of indie films and small roles in larger productions, Kate Hudson got her big break as a groupie for a ‘70s rock band. It was by Sarah Polley’s last-minute rejection of the part of Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous (2000) that allowed Hudson to read for the role that would be her breakthrough performance, earning her an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award in 2000.
Kate Hudson has gone on to act in over a dozen other big-budget films since Almost Famous including romantic comedies How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Raising Helen (2004), and You, Me and Dupree (2006). Hudson’s has a number of movies awaiting release next year, including the movie-musical Nine which she will star in with Nicole Kidman.
