|  Kate Mara mini-bio: Kate Mara is a young American actress who was born Feb/27/83 in Bedford New,York,Kate graduated from high school a year early. She was accepted at the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts but deferred for 3 consecutive years due to acting and singing.In March of 2007 she appeared in a print ad for Gap,Since then she has been in many T.V shows that include CSI,CSI Miami,Law and Order SUV,Cold Case,Her all-time favorite show 24,Nip/Tuck and Entourage.She has also been in many films from We are Marshall,Shooter and has signed on to play the role of Bethany Cabe in the up-coming squeal Iron-Man 2 thats due out in 2010.
Kate say's she fell in love with broadway and musicals and grew up watching movie musicals on television and going to Broadway shows with her mother. She was especially a fan of Judy Garland's films.Kate's mother got the name and address of a management company, sent in a photograph,and Mara signed with her first agent,beginning her professional career at the age of 14.Kate considers Cate Blanchett,Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet among the actresses she wants to model her career after.In 2003,Kate made her professional stage debut at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Landscape of the Body with Lili Taylor.
Kate was a co-director of the film The Whole Truth (2006).As well she recorded an album with her band "Trace".

Mara's family owns the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers,she is the great-granddaughter of Giants founder Tim Mara,the granddaughter of late Giants owner Wellington Mara on her father's side, as well as the great-granddaughter of Steelers founder Art Rooney on her mother's side.Kate's uncle is John Mara the president and CEO of the Giants, and her father is the vice president of player evaluation.
