Lee Hyuk Jae, better known as Eunhyuk, is a singer, dancer and rapper of South Korean boyband, Super Junior. He uses his stage name Eunhyuk, to avoid confusion with another celebrity called Lee Hyuk Jae.
Hyuk Jae and childhood friend, Xiah Junsu, joined SM Entertainment in 1999, after successfully passing their auditions. He and Junsu then trained at SM for the following years.
He is the lead dancer and rapper of Super Junior. Also, he is considered the second best SM Entertainment dancer, behind Dong Bang Shin Ki/Tohoshinki's U-Know Yunho.
Hyuk Jae and childhood friend, Xiah Junsu, joined SM Entertainment in 1999, after successfully passing their auditions. He and Junsu then trained at SM for the following years.
In 2002, Hyuk Jae, Junsu and future bandmate Sungmin were put into a project R&B group. This group was unsuccessful however, as 3 of the other members were put into other groups and Junsu, then being placed in Dong Bang Shin Ki.
After Junsu's departure, Hyuk Jae and Sungmin were placed into a project called Super Junior, along with 10 other trainees from SM. The twelve members were then named Super Junior 05, the first generation of Super Junior, which would rotate each year.
Super Junior '05 debuted on November 6th, 2005 with the single "TWINS (Knock Out)".
After the groups second single "Miracle", SM were about to recruit the new generation of Super Junior. However, plans were changed and instead, a new member Kyuhyun joined, scrapping the generation idea and dropping '05, to making them just Super Junior. Fans, at first, were displeased with the new addition, who supported the original 12 members. But they then warmed to the new member. Super Junior's fanbase are named ELF, standing for Ever Lasting Friends.
In early 2007, Eunhyuk was placed in Super Junior-T, along with 5 other of his Super Junior members. This group specialized in Trot, an old fashioned Korean pop music. Their debut song "Rokkugo" then became the best selling single of the year.
In September 2007, Super Junior then came back together with all 13 members to release their second album "Don't Don", which became the band's best selling album and Korea's best selling album of the year.
In Summer 2008, Super Junior then split in sub groups. Eunhyuk was placed in Super Junior-Happy. Their first mini album "Cooking? Cooking!" was released on June 5th.
On March 13th 2009, Super Junior, with all 13 members, made their comeback with their 3rd album "Sorry Sorry". In less than a week of pre-orders been announced, "Sorry Sorry" had already had more than 150,000 pre-orders. It also reached no. 1 on many charts.
Eunhyuk also presents radio show "Kiss The Radio" with Super Junior leader, Leeteuk, since 2006. He has also MC-ed "M.NET's M! Countdown" with Leeteuk and Shindong in early 2007, but had to quit due to tour schedules.
Eunhyuk is an active lyricist, writing raps and lyrics for Super Junior's songs. The rap lyrics to "Show Me Your Love", a partner song with Dong Bang Shin Ki, was written by him, Heechul and Shindong. He also wrote the rap in "U" and said it was written for fans. In addition, he was the main rap lyric contributor to Super Junior's second studio album "Don't Don".
Also in dance routines, Eunhyuk choreographs some of the moves.
On April 19th 2007, Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, Shindong and Kyuhyun were involved in a serious car crash. Unlike Leeteuk and Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk didn't have any major injuries and was released from hospital on April 23rd.
