| | Liv Tyler “Life excites me. I'm not talking about appearing in movies or doing interviews, but just little, normal, everyday things. Getting out of bed. Getting dressed. Making food. I find it all exciting, you know?” --- Liv Tyler
| | Liv Tyler Bio | Born July 1, 1977, Liv Rundgren Tyler is the daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler. Her mom is Bebe Buell. She was born in New York City. She grew up for a short time in Portland, Maine, before returning to NYC at age 12.
Liv is named after Norweigian actress Liv Ullman because her mom saw her on the cover of TV guide that year. When Liv was born, her mom originally claimed that rock star Todd Rundgren was her father, but she discovered that Steven Tyler was her real father at age nine. She figured it out when she met him and realized that she looked a lot like his other daughter, Mia. When she confronted her mother, Bebe confirmed it. However it wasn't until 1991 that Liv officially changed her last name to Tyler that it became public. She kept her former last name as her middle name. Her mom said the reason why she kept it secret because Steven was addicted to drugs at the time of birth. Liv has become very close with her real father now, and have even worked professionally together.
Liv has three half-siblings: Chelsea Anna Tallarico, Taj Monroe Tallarico, and Mia Tyler.
“I cried on my 18th birthday. I thought 17 was such a nice age. You're young enough to get away with things, but you're old enough, too.”
| | Liv Tyler Career | At the age of 14, Liv moved to New York and pursued a modelling career, when she received her first modeling job with assistance of Paulina Porizkova. She later starred in TV commercials, and suddenly, Liv decided she might do well in the movie world and wanted to pursue acting, only after a year of modelling. Even though, Liv never tooked acting lessons, she was spotted in particularly when appeared along Alicia Silverstone in her father's video "Crazy".
Her film debut happened in 1994 with the movie "Silent Hill", where she played the older sister of an autistic boy. Playing a waitress named Callie, she earned praise for her performance in the 1995 independent film Heavy. In the same year, she starred in the comedy drama Empire Records. Liv has described Empire Records as "one of the best experiences" she has ever had.
When I did Stealing Beauty, I was just a kid. I'd done a couple of movies, but I'd never been to an acting class in my life. But what I took away from it more than anything was the sense that, even though I was the central character, it was my job to get completely lost in the film. The breakthrough in Liv Tyler's career happened with the release of the romance Stealing Beauty, where she played the role of an innocent, romantic teenager who travels to Italy intent on losing her virginity. The film received generally mixed reviews, but every film critic complimented Tyler's performance. Tyler also found box office success with the nostalgic 1960 rock film, Oscar nominee That Thing You Do (1996) with Tom Hanks.
The following year, she appeared in Inventing the Abbots, where she met her future partner Joaquin Phoenix, but the relationship lasted for only 3 years. Next, Tyler appeared in the box-office hit, Armageddon, co-starring with Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck. The movie included the songs "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" and "What Kind of Love Are You On" performed by Aerosmith, where Liv's father is the leading singer.
"I really didn't want to do it at first and I turned it down a couple of times, but the biggest reason I changed my mind was because I was scared of it. I wanted to try it for that very reason. I mean, I'm not really in this to do amazing things in my career - I just want it to be special when I make a movie." After this followed some small roles for Liv, such as Plunkett & Macleane (1999), which positioned her as the aristocratic inamorata of a highwayman, Cookie's Fortune (1999), in which she engaged in small-town slapstick romance with Chris O'Donnell, and she finished out the year on a more serious note, playing opposite Ralph Fiennes in the Alexander Pushkin adaptation Onegin (1999).
Perhaps the most magical performance of her career so far has been as Arwen, an elf who falls in love with a human, Aragon, played by Viggo Mortensen, in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), and later, its sequels: The Two Towers (2002), and finally The Return of the King (2003). Based on the books by J. R. R. Tolkien, the film series scored at the box office and became an international phenomenon.
It wasn't until I came back home after such a long time away that I realized how much hype there was about this. I get to play someone 3,000 years old. I'm 23, so that's quite an acting challenge. In 2003, Tyler married English singer Royston Langdon and the next year, the couple welcomed a son named Milo. Tyler kept a low profile for a while, spending most of her time with her family.
Following the success made by her performance as Arwen in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, she lated starred in Jersey Girl (2004), playing a woman who re-opens a widowed father's heart to love, played by Affleck. In 2007, she resurfaced with several new projects, including Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle. Last year, Liv had in all like 3 releases, such as: Smother (2008), in the horror movie "The Strangers", and the last movie in which she played was "The Incredible Hulk" the sequel of the 2003s production "Hulk", playing the role of Betty Ross, girlfriend of Bruce Banner played by the 2 times Oscar nominated Edward Norton.
“It's terrifying. It's so scary, because you get used to being around the crew and being friendly with everyone and then suddenly, at a certain point, everything switches and you're the one standing behind the lights and nobody's going to help you. And that can be really difficult sometimes.”
