Lucy Gordon mini-bio: Lucy Gordon (22 May 1980 – 20 May 2009) was a British actress and model, born in Oxford, England.
The Oxford-born actress played character Jennifer Dugan in the third instalment of Spider-Man and had most recently acted in Brief Interviews With Hideous Men. She had recently worked on two other films including a biopic of singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, in which she played the 60s actress and singer Jane Birkin. She also had a central role in a new French comedy, Cineman, due out this year, and played alongside Audrey Tautou – the star of Amelie – in Les Poupées Russes (The Russian Dolls), a romantic comedy. Miss Gordon made her screen debut in 2001 and has since appeared in around a dozen films, including Serendipity, starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.
Miss Gordon had been in the public eye since the age of 15 when she landed a hugely prestigious worldwide contract with the cosmetics company, Cover Girl. She worked in London and New York, before moving to Paris to film Vie Heroique. Two other films she worked, 'Brief Interviews with Hideous Men' and 'Cineman', are in post-production.
In one of those, a French film charting the life of singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, she played Swinging 60s actress and singer Jane Birkin. The film set for a 2010 release is titled 'Serge Gainsbourg, vie héroïque'
Earlier in her career, Lucy Gordon worked as a fashion model on the catwalks across Europe, later turning to a successful career in Hollywood and European cinema.
After being spotted by talent agents in the fashion modelling world, Lucy Gordon made her movie debut in the 2001 film Perfume. Perfume followed a group of characters at a New York modelling show.
In 2002, Lucy Gordon starred in the war drama The Four Feathers, where the cast also included the young Australian actor Heath Ledger - who died of a drugs overdose in his apartment in New York last year.
