Martin Sheen mini-bio: Martin Sheen (born Ramón Gerardo Antonio Estévez) is an American actor, best known for his roles in the film Apocalypse Now and, most recently, as President Josiah Bartlet on the television drama The West Wing. His first major role was on Broadway, in The Subject Was Roses, which he recreated in the 1968 film of the same name. He did not receive another important part until 1973, when he starred with Sissy Spacek in the crime drama Badlands - which he has said in many interviews is his best film.

As part of the Social Action Campaign for the new film Food Inc. (coming out June 12th in NYC, LA, and SF), Martin, Alyssa Milano, and the NBA star, John Salley, have released online PSAs in support of healthier food choices.

Awesome actor very versatile and incredibly underratted. Usually when i see him in a film i'm not seeing him as i might see say.. al pacino, I'm just seeing the character. Maybe he doesn't always get the most memorable characters (perhaps why he's overlooked) but he always plays them brilliantly.
