Last year (June 16, 2006), when fire broke out in Sitio Mahayahay II (beside us), a portion of our audio-visual room (AVR) was also eaten by the fire. We would have wished to immediately repair the damage caused by this unfortunate incident but we are hard-pressed for resources. Salesian initiative, however, propels us to push forward and seek ways to rectify the situation, hence, this letter-request. May we cordially ask for financial assistance of USD $ 10,000.00 from you to be used in the repair of our AVR? This has become imperative for us because we will be using the AVR for the Training Center activities such as graduation and other functions otherwise we would be left to continually make do with makeshift function halls in the Youth Center’s playground area.

Allow me to briefly introduce Don Bosco-Pasil to you and your good office. We are a training center for the out-of-school youth offering one-year technical-vocational skills training to the marginalized youngsters in and around the locality. We have been running this skills training program for more than 30 years now and corollary to this work is our Youth Center that offers recreational facilities to the children and youth in the area. Indeed, we have become a by-word to the over 45,000 residents of barangays Suba and Pasil because of the various activities we offer the young people.
