
Michael Welch was born on July 25 1987 in Los Angeles, California. He is best known as Luke Girardi on the television show Joan of Arcadia and as Mike Newton in the movie Twilight based on Stephanie Meyer's book.Michael Welch appeared in the 1998 film Star Trek: Insurrection, as well as on the television series Malcolm in the Middle, The X files, 7th Heaven, Cold Case, Without a Trace, NCIS, Crossing Jordan, The Riches, and Birds of Prey. He also narrated the Carl Hiaasen book, Flush, for CD in 2006. One of his most acclaimed roles is as a teenage version of Colonel Jack O'Neill in the Stargate SG1 episode "Fragile Balance".He has appeared in An American Crime, My Suicide, American Son, and The Beautiful Ordinary. Michael has recently completed his most challenging role in the indie movie Lost Dream. He also stars in Day of the Dead and All the Boys love Mandy Lane. Watch for many of these films to come to theaters in 2008. Now 20, this actor has proved himself to be quite a multi-talented performer. In his ten-year career Michael has had success in movies, television, theater and even voice-over.
