Miriam Yeung Chin Wah mini-bio: Miriam Yeung Chin-Wah, is a Hong Kong actress and Cantopop singer. Before entering the entertainment business, she was a registered nurse at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Hong Kong. She studied at the Holy Family Canossian College Kowloon. She entered the entertainment industry after coming in third in the TVB 14th annual New Talent Singing Awards competition in 1995, and has steadily gained popularity ever since.

In late 2006, she left Gold Label and joined Amusic, the company co-founded by Leon Lai, in 2007 and is an artist of Rich and Famous Talent Management Group Limited.

As a singer, Miriam has had many songs that have been mainstream hits and award winners, such as Why Aquarius (???????), Maiden's Prayer (?????), "Sisters" and "Small City, Important Matter" (????). "Small City, Important Matter" and "Maiden's Prayer" have won "Best Song of the Year Award" in 2004 and 2000. She has also been awarded with "Most Popular Female Singer", "2006 CRHK Chik Chak 903 Music Awards Favourite Female Singer", "Female Singer Golden Award", and "HK'S TOP 10 OUTSTANDING YOUTH 2005" which further attested her huge popularity.

Miriam's last album with Gold Label, "Unlimited", was released on December 15, 2006. Her music contract with Gold Label also ended on that day, and she joined Amusic soon after.

Miriam's first album at Amusic, Meridian, was released on August 14, 2007. All the songs that appear in the album were personally chosen by Leon Lai, as were the album's photographs. Her latest album, Wonder Miriam, was released on September 26, 2008, has won a Golden Album. In the same year, she has won the Most Popular Female Singer in the TVB Jade Solid Gold Top 10 Awards again after 6-year time.

As an actress, Miriam is known for performing in comedic films; often as a silly, naive, and clumsy girl. For example, in one of her very popular films, Love Undercover, she played a newly graduated police officer who failed every test as a cadet and had entertaining and nonsensical ways of completing her assignments. She tried different roles to good reviews both in 2003 and 2004. In Sound of Colors co-starring Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Miriam played a blind woman who found love in a unexpected way through a series of fate twisting events. The following year, she tried a darker role, in the Three...Extremes segment Dumplings. Miriam played Ching, a former TV actress, who fears of growing old and losing her looks, while trying to keep her cheating husband from abandoning her. She seeks out Mei (Bai Ling), who tells Ching her dark secret to staying young, which is revealed to be eating stillborn fetuses prepared in dumplings. Miriam's greatest critical achievement of her acting career to date came in 2005 when she was nominated for Best Actress in Leading Role at the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards for her character, Fung Siu-Man, in the comedy Drink, Drank, Drunk.

Miriam's only film of 2006 was 2 Become 1, a "dramedy" which was released early that year. She co-starred with Taiwanese actor/singer Richie Ren for a second time, after starring with him in Elixir of Love in 2004. Miriam played Bingo, a woman who is an advertising executive that lives a somewhat carefree lifestyle. She meets a clinical psychologist, V (Richie Ren), one day, and discovers a lump on her breast. The movie chronicles her fight against breast cancer.

Miriam's latest film, Hooked On You, was released on June 28, 2007 in Hong Kong. The film is directed by Law Wing Cheong, and co-stars Eason Chan. This will also be the fourth time Miriam and Eason have collaborated with each other in a film, the first being 8 years ago in the film "Rumble Ages". In "Hooked On You", Miriam plays Miu, a fishmonger who sets out a plan to change her life before she turns the age of thirty. The film has been well received by critics, with LoveHKFilm.com praising "As of June 30th, it's hard to think of a 2007 Hong Kong movie that's better than this one."

This year, 2009, Miriam has planned to star in 2 films and will start filming one in June.
