Nestor Carbonell (born December 1, 1967) is an American actor best known for his role as Luis Rivera on the sitcom Suddenly Susan.
Carbonell was born in New York City and attended Harvard U...( read more)niversity in the late 1980's. His father is active in the Cuban-American community and has held senior positions at Pepsi.
Carbonell had recurring roles on Resurrection Blvd., The Tick, Strong Medicine, Kim Possible, and Cold Case. He also guest-starred on Scrubs ("My Moment of Un-Truth"), House, and Day Break. He went on to play Richard Alpert for several episodes in the third season of Lost, and was offered a role as a series regular for Season 4, but he declined and took up the show Cane.
In 2006 he appeared in Smokin' Aces, in which he portrayed a serial killer named Pasqual Acosta.
In 2007, he signed on to play the mayor of Gotham City in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, the sequel to the 2005 film Batman Begins. He is currently starring as Frank Duque in the new CBS show, Cane.
