He also appeared in Broadway musicals such as: Wicked (with the role of Fiyero); Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (with the role of Freddy Benson)(he also won the Tony for best actor in a musical for his performance); Rent (with the role of Roger); and Thou Shalt Not (with the role of Camille Raquin). Butz is currently engaged to his former Wicked cast member Michelle Federer.

I LOVE THIS GUY! He is the best singer ever! i have never been able to see him in a show but i have always wanted to. i have so many songs on my i pod that he sings. Universal Studios is making a movie based on the book Wicked and people are saying that they might use the original Broadway cast of Wicked. including Idina Menzel, Kristen Chenoweth, and NORBERT LEO BUTZ! i am so excited for that. i cannot wait for it to come out into theaters!!!

I absolutely love him! I've seen him in 4 shows and he acts his parts so well I forget it's the same person as Jamie, Fiyero, Freddy, and Roger. Ruprecht even stands out as a separate entity. Norbert's a brilliant actor and singer! Simply amazing, one of the best I've seen!
