Olivia Thirlby has been described by Vanity Fair as one of "Hollywood's New Wave" since starring in her first breakout role in 2007's indie hit Juno.

She was born in New York City on October 6, 1986 and was raised in Manhattan's East Village. She studied drama at the American Globe Theatre and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

In high school, she starred in the films The Secret and United 93 and the television show Kidnapped. In 2007, Olivia was cast as the best friend of the title character in the comedy-drama Juno She then next starred in The Wackness alongside Josh Peck.She has a number of films awaiting release, and is attached to star in Jack and Diane opposite Ellen Page, with whom she co-starred in Juno. Thirlby plans to attend college once she has made a sufficient start to her acting career.
