P!nkAlecia Beth Moore (born September 8, 1979), professionally known as Pink, or P!nk, is a two-time Grammy-winning American singer/songwriter who gained prominence in 2000 and has had continued success around the world. She released her first single "There You Go" and first album, the R&B oriented "Can't Take Me Home", in 2000 via LaFace Records.
Her pop/rock-based second studio album, "M!ssundaztood" was released in 2001 and is her biggest seller to date, featuring the chart-topping hits "Get The Party Started" & "Just Like a Pill".
Pink then followed up her 2001 album with "Try This" in 2003 featuring singles such as "Trouble" & "God Is A DJ".
After a brief break from music, she returned in 2006 with her fourth album "I'm Not Dead" that spawned six hit singles including "Stupid Girls", "Who Knew" & "U + Ur Hand".
Her fifth album, "Funhouse" was released in late October 2008 and was preceded by her first solo number one on the Hot 100, "So What".

Big break: When Alecia was 16, she was discovered by L.A. Reid and joined R&B trio Choice, who signed a record deal with LaFace Records. The trio released the single “Key To My Heart,” which was featured in the 1996 film “Kazaam.” L.A. Reid felt that Choice wasn’t strong enough as a group and offered Alecia a record deal as a solo artist, and – although reluctant – she accepted. Pink recorded her debut album in 1999 which was then released in April 2000.

Pink Relationships
Family: Pink's parents are Vietnam veteran James Moore and nurse Judy Kugel, she also has a brother, Jason Moore.
Romance(s): Pink met motocross superstar Carey Hart, at the 2001 X Games in Las Vegas. Pink proposed to her longtime boyfriend in June 2005 by holding up a sign (pit board) for him during a race in Mammoth Lake, California. The couple married on a beach in Costa Rica on January 7, 2006. However, Pink and Carey parted ways in February 2008, insisting they were the best of friends.
On March 30, 2009 Carey confirmed in an interview that they were 'dating' although it had been rumoured the pair had got back together in January this year.
Collaborations:
  • Pink's first major collaboration was in 2001, she recorded a cover of Labelle's 1975 single "Lady Marmalade" with Christina Aguilera, rapper Lil' Kim and Mýa for the soundtrack of the film Moulin Rouge.
  • Linda Perry co-wrote many of the songs on Pink's second album 'M!ssundaztood', and she contributed guest vocals to "Lonely Girl". Pink's Third album also featured three songs written with Linda Perry.
  • Steven Tyler of Aerosmith features on "Misery", another track from 'M!ssundaztood'
  • Peaches performed guest vocals on Pink's album Try This, on the song "Oh My God."
  • Indigo Girls featured on Pink's 'Dear Mr. President' from her fourth album 'I'm not Deasd' whilst Pink featured on Indigo Girls 'Rock n' Roll Heaven's Gate' which features on their tenth album titled 'Despite Our Differences.'
  • Butch Walker has worked with Pink on many occasions. Most recently on 'Bad Influence' & 'Mean' which they co-wrote for Pink's most recent album 'Funhouse'. The 2 also worked together on Pink's 4th album 'I'm Not Dead' co-writing songs such as 'Long Way To Happy' and 'Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)'. Pink also featured vocally on Butch Walker's 'Song Without A Chorus' and more recently 'Here Comes The...'
  • Travis McCoy also features on Pink's latest album 'Funhouse.' The international bonus track 'This Is How It Goes Down' see's the lead vocalist of 'Gym Class Heroes' on rap duties.

  • Pink has around 20 tattoo's each one marks a different period in her life.
  • Pink landed an opening act for 'N Sync on their American tour in the summer of 2000.
  • Pink was chosen to sing the theme song for NBC Sunday Night Football, "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night", which is a take on "I Hate Myself for Lovin' You" by Joan Jett.
  • She contributed a cover of Rufus's "Tell Me Something Good" to the soundtrack of the film Happy Feet, and lent her name to PlayStation to promote the PSP, a special pink edition of which was released.
  • On September 18, 2008, "So What" became the first solo number one of her career on the Billboard Hot 100. The track has also reached number one in Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada and Germany.
