sometimes, I wonder where Gunny ends, and R. Lee Ermey begins... and sometimes I wonder if there's even a difference between the two characters...

I don't care what movie this guy's in- whenever yells, he immediatally makes me cringe and kinda scoot backwards into my seat... Which is why I probably love "Full Metal Jacket" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" So much. Without him in either movie, I'm not ashamed to admit that both would have come off as horribly bland.
But, as much as I love this guy as an actor, I would HATE to be his kid. I mean, it's frightening enough to listen to him bark at another actor, but can you imagine crashing your car or f***ing a grade up at school, and coming back home to HIM waiting for you?! Genuinely scary thought!

The "Gunny" is highly intelligent and to the point. He has that quality of cutting right to the quick. His brilliant acting, I believe, is in simply emmulating himself and his own qualities. He seems to tackle a scene as if he was really living it, and has the presence of mind to know what he would actually say if it were really happening. He is always highly believable and he just seems to really be that person that he is playing in the movie. He is always large and in-charge, an imposing personality that has no fear. I love you man!
