Rebecca Koon mini-bio: Rebecca Koon has been a member of Actor's Equity Association since 1985. She has appeared in more than 100 plays, 50 feature films and television films, and three network series, including the recurring role of Eileen Slocum on NBC's award winning series "I'll Fly Away." Stage roles include Vivian in "Wit," Karen in "Dinner With Friends," Patricia in "Sight Unseen," Reba in "The Last Night of Ballyhoo," Ouisa in "Six Degrees of Separation," Birdie in "Another Part of the Forest," Masha in "The Three Sisters," Luyba in "The Cherry Orchard" directed by Louis Zorich, and "Drop Dead!" directed by Olympia Dukakis. Regional theatre credits include Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Olney Theatre, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Tampa Players, Temple Theatre, and New Harmony Theatre. For Piccolo Spoleto Festival she co-produced and appeared in the successful premiere of Judy Simpson Cook's "Country Songs." Having played Truvy in "Steel Magnolias," she subsequently played Claree for Montana Repertory Theatre's national tour. Her acclaimed performance in the Playworks revival of "Shirley Valentine" was seen at Spirit Square Arts Center,Blowing Rock Stage Company, Riverside Theatre, and Pack Place. Film and televisioncredits include "Radio," "The Gift," "That Darn Cat," "Morgan's Ferry," "The Grass Harp," Lasse Hallstrom's "Something to Talk About," and the series "Matlock," "Dawson's Creek," and "Surface." She is married to Steve Umberger, and is the mother of Maggie Valentine.
