Was nominated for Broadway's 1998 Tony Award as best actor (play) for Eugène Ionesco's "The Chairs.".
Plays Ian Holm's father in Frankenstein (1994). Two years later, he played Polonius in Hamlet (1996). The role had previously been played by Holm in Hamlet (1990/I).
