Robert Pattinson Biography:  Robert Thomas-Pattinson was born on May 13, 1986 in London, England. His mother, Clare worked for a modeling agency and his father, Richard, imported vintage cars from the U.S. He is the youngest of 3 children. Acting When Robert was 15, he joined the Barnes Theatre Company after spotting a group of girls from there. After some backstage expreience there he took on acting roles in plays such as Macbeth and Tess of the D'Urbervilles where he caught the attention of an acting agent. He landed his first film role as Giselher in Ring of the Nibelungs and also moved on to play the older Rawdy Crawley in Vanity Fair (his scenes were later cut and only shown on the DVD). In 2005 he was to appear in the UK premiere of The Woman Before at the Royal Court Theatre, but was sacked shortly before opening night (He was replace by Tom Riley). Later that year his 'Big Break' came when he was cast as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He was named that year's British Star of Tomorrow by Times Online. 2006 and 2007 saw Robert cast in the TV movies The Haunted Airman (playing Toby Jugg) and The Bad Mother's Handbook (playing Daniel Gate). He also made a brief appearence in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Up next came the roles of Richard in The SUmmer House, Art in How To Be and Salvador Dali in Little Ashes. In 2008 he was cast as Edward Cullen in the movie Twilight, based on Stephanie Meyer's bestselling noel of the same name. Pattinson was initially apprehensive about audtitoning for the role of Edward Cullen, fearful that he wouldn't be able to live up to the perfection expected from the character. 2008 also saw Robert in the (as yet unreleased) The Summer House. Twilight's sequel, New Moon, will begin filming in March 2009, where Robert will reprise his role of Edward Cullen. Pattinson was cast as Salvador Dali in the movie Little Ashes, due to be released in 2009. This was his first leaing role. Modeling His modeling career began when he was 12 years old but it slowed to a stop only 4 years later. He blamed his lack of work as a model in his masculine appearance. However, in 2007 he appeared in the avertising campaign for Hackett's Autumn 2007 collection. He is sometimes credited as Robert Thomas-Pattinson in his modelling work. Music Rober is an accomplished guitar and piano player and composes his own music. He appears as the singer of 2 of the songs on the Twilight soundtrack: 'Never Think' (which he co-wrote with Sam Bradley) and ''Let Me Sign' The songs were included into the film afterthe director added his recordings into an early cut without his knowledge.
