Rock Hudson mini-bio: Born with the name of Roy Harold Scherer Jr., Rock Hudson changed his name when he got into acting- not until after he returned from WWII. It was his striking good looks and impressive size that made him an obvious choice for a leading man. Best known for his several "Bedroom Comedies", Rock won many awards over the years and was nominated for an Oscar. He was one of the first major public figures to announce he had the AIDS virus, and did much great work in raising awareness for the disease. He passed away in 1985.

He was a wonderful actor. I dont care about the personal lives of actors just as long as they act well enough for the part they are playing, that is the mark of an actor to make us think they are the person they are portraying.
