Roman Polanski mini-bio
:
Roman Raymond Pola?ski is an Academy Award-winning Polish film director and actor. A celebrated Hollywood director of such films as Rosemary's Baby (1968) and Chinatown (1974), he is also known for his tumultuous personal life. In 1969, his wife Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family. In 1978, after pleading guilty to having sexual intercourse with a minor, Polanski fled to Europe. Unwilling to return to the United States and face arrest, he has continued to direct films in Europe, including Frantic (1988), the Academy Award-winning and Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or-winning The Pianist (2002), and Oliver Twist (2005).
Polanski survived the Holocaust in German occupied Poland during WWII. In 1969, his pregnant wife, Sharon Tate, was murdered by the Manson Family. In 1977, he was arrested in Los Angeles and pleaded guilty to "unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor", a 13-year-old girl.
Released after a 42-day psychiatric evaluation, Polanski fled to France. He is considered by U.S. authorities to be a fugitive from justice and cannot return to the United States without risking arrest and imprisonment. Polanski has since avoided visits to countries that were likely to extradite him, such as the United Kingdom. As a French citizen, he is protected by France's limited extradition with the United States, and Poland is also unlikely to extradite him. He travels mostly between France, where he resides, and Poland.
Polanski has continued to direct films in Europe, including Frantic (1988), Death and the Maiden (1994), The Ninth Gate (1999), the Academy Award-winning (for best director) and Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or-winning The Pianist (2002), and Oliver Twist (2005). He has also done occasional work in theatre and in the films of other directors.

Yeah Infamous you are because personal vendettas does not change the impact and brilliance of his films. If you don't like his films, that's cool, but it better not be because of his past because then you would be a fool.

Is there anyone else who can come to this point.
How come someone can be the best in any genres, the best for all settings and all moods. Polanski specialied in horror movies(the Tenant), dramas(Bitter moon), Neo-noirs(china town), comedies(Pirates), Trillers (the Tenant), mysteries(9th gate) and adventures(Pirates), Biographies(Pianist). I believe him.
